Staying at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore

In 2022, during my trip to Singapore, I crossed one item off my bucket list: staying at the Marina Bay Sands. With its three towers, this famous hotel has become one of the symbols of the city. Swimming in its iconic infinity pool had long been a dream of mine, so I decided to take the plunge and treat myself for my 29th birthday.

What a view!

The Marina Bay Sands is an iconic part of the Singapore skyline. You can see it from afar, and when I arrived there, I was impressed by how huge it was.

After checking out from my previous hotel, I went to the Marina Bay Sands to drop off my suitcase before it was time to check in, and to my surprise, they said that I didn’t need to come pick it up, they would send it directly to my room. So this is what being rich feels like? Amazing! As I had never been to a luxury hotel before, I was super impressed. Since I was too early, my room wasn’t ready yet, so they gave me a pass to the rooftop. However, I had some work to do, so I decided to go to a café in the shopping mall located in the hotel to get it over with before enjoying myself.

The hotel itself is huge, and there is big shopping mall inside of it, which is accessible to everyone, not just hotel guests. I walked around a little bit, but you will find mostly French luxury fashion and perfume brands. The place is really beautiful, so you can still enjoy it even if you’re not buying anything.

My Room

There are several types of room to choose from, and the prices vary depending on the floor and the view. You can choose to either face the city or the Gardens by the Bay. Personnally, I choose the Deluxe Room with the Sky view, which is located on floor 40 and above, facing the city. I paid 1,022 SGD (approximately 706 EUR/760 USD) for one night. Now that I’m writing it down, it feels crazy to think that I spent that much on a hotel room! I’ll probably never be able to do that again, so I’m glad I got to enjoy that experience.

But I was really impressed by the room. I had never experienced such luxury before. I had a huge bathroom with a shower and a bathtub facing the window, so you can relax while admiring the view. I also had a big desk, which waq nice because I had some more work to do. The room even had a vanity with a big mirror, which is perfect to do your hair and makeup before going out.

When I booked the room, I indicated that I was coming for my birthday, so they even gave me a cake!

And the star of the show was, of course, the view! When you enter the room, the curtain opens automatically, which makes it even more impressive, as you’re greeted by the city skyline. In the afternoon, the weather got cloudy, so I couldn’t actually see anything, but when it cleared up and the night arrived, the view was amazing! I didn’t even close the curtain when I went to bed. I simply couldn’t get enough!

For the first time in my life, I ordered room service. I ordered a plate of fruits for 25 SGD (around 19 USD/17 EUR) and then a little later, curried lentils with rice for 55 SGD (around 41 USD/37 EUR). The prices were rather high, but I figured I had already paid so much for the room, so what’s €50 more, right?

The Iconic Infinity Pool

The iconic infinity pool was definitely one of the highlights of my stay at the Marina Bay Sands. I had dreamed of visiting it for years. And I was certainly not disappointed. Unlike the Observation Desk, the pool is only available to hotel guests. Located on the 57th floor, the pool offers the most amazing view of the city skyline. So when the night came, I put on my bathing suit, the hotel bathrobe and headed up to the roof top!

Before going there, I was afraid that it would be too crowded, due to the popularity of the place, and that I would be unable to take any photos without people in it. However, to my suprise, it wasn’t crowded at all, and I had lots of space to take pictures. People were mostly chilling around the pool on the seats, and I quickly realized why: the water is pretty cold! I would have expected it to be warmer, but I assume that they keep it quite cold to prevent people from spending hours there and crowding the place. But it was so beautiful at night, with the clear view of the city lights and the neon blue water, so I stayed there as long as I could to enjoy the view.

Breakfast

The breakfast is not included, but you have several options to choose from in the hotel. I chose to go to the RISE restaurant, which offers a breakfast buffet. The breakfast cost 52 SGD (38 USD/35 EUR), but I felt like it was part of the experience. I didn’t regret it, because it was amazing! There are so many options to choose from, from different countries. You have a large choice of chinese, malay, indian, japanese dishes and more, as well as the classic continental western breakfast, with fresh fruits and various pastries. I wish I could have stayed there all day, because I wanted to try everything. I ate two full plates and I was full for a long time! I will definetly go back there during my next trip to Singapore, even if I don’t stay at the hotel.

In a nutshell

Overall, this was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. I had dreamed of it for so long and, as you can tell from the name of my blog, I absolutely love night city views! It’s been two years now, and I still think fondly about my stay at the Marina Bay Sands.
